A party popper.
You can see the string and the explosive charge on the left, then an air gap and then the streamers sandwiched between two cardboard disks. The explosive is probably silver fulminate, this shows up as the dark smudge in the centre of the explosive charge. The silver absorbs X-Rays well, so even a tiny amount shows up in the image.
