Day two of X-raying seasonal things brings us the bane of all tree decorators.
It’s a blown Xmas tree light.
The arrow points to the break in the very thin (<10um thick) double spiral wound filament. I was surprised how much filament material was left either side of the lead in wires – this is just wastage as it’ll never be part of the circuit and conduct electricity to glow.
